Overview
Knovito is designed to keep your personal reflection data private and, by default, stored on your device. Knovito does not use advertising, third-party analytics, or telemetry to collect your personal life data.
Information Stored on Your Device
The following information is stored locally on your device when you choose to use these features:
- Your display name used inside the app
- Mind, Body, and Heart intentions and completion information
- Mood check-ins and optional mood notes
- Sleep entries
- Journal entries
- Journey and balance history
- Reminder settings and custom reminders
- App appearance and preference settings
Personal Insight and Mood Insight features are calculated on your device from your local app history.
Optional My Group Mood Sharing
My Group mood sharing is optional and is off by default. If you choose to turn it on, Knovito uses Apple's iCloud and CloudKit services to create a private mood share owned by your iCloud account.
Only the minimum information needed for the shared 7-day mood view is placed in that iCloud share:
- Your Knovito display name
- Mood level
- Mood check-in date and time
- Minimum record metadata needed to maintain the shared mood history
The following are not shared through My Group:
- Mood notes
- Journal entries
- Sleep data
- Intentions
- Completion notes
- Journey details
- Reminder settings
- Backup files
- Payment-card information
Only people you personally invite receive read-only access to your shared mood information. Sharing is managed through Apple's iCloud sharing controls.
Turning Sharing Off and Deletion
You can turn Group Mood Sharing off at any time in Knovito. When you turn it off, Knovito clears the shared mood history from your iCloud mood-share record while leaving your local mood history on your device.
You can remove invited viewers using the My Group sharing controls. You can also delete local Knovito data using the app's reset/clear-data controls. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored app data subject to normal iOS behavior.
Backups and Exports
If you use Knovito's manual backup/export feature, Knovito creates a backup file and you choose where to save or share it. Knovito does not upload those backup files to a Knovito-operated server.
Notifications
Scheduled check-in and inactivity reminders are created locally on your device. Optional My Group mood-update notifications may use Apple's iCloud/CloudKit and Apple notification services to alert you when shared mood information changes.
Purchases and App Store Services
In-app purchases, purchase restoration, and optional App Store ratings are handled by Apple. Knovito does not receive your payment-card details. Apple's handling of information for App Store, iCloud, CloudKit, and related services is governed by Apple's own privacy policies and terms.
Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
Knovito does not include third-party advertising, does not use your personal Knovito data for advertising, and does not use third-party analytics or telemetry to track your activity across apps or websites.
Support Communications
If you contact Knovito support by email, you choose what information to provide. Your email service and our email provider may process that communication in order to send and receive the message. Please avoid sending sensitive journal content or other private information unless it is necessary for your support request.
Children
Knovito is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through a Knovito-operated server. Parents or guardians should supervise use where appropriate.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when Knovito's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are published.
